A woman calls out her critics after backlash for wearing tracksuits to a store

When you need to get some nutritional necessities from the supermarket, many of us wear different tracksuits depending on the occasion – whether it’s wearing our pajamas for a pint of milk or eating dinner in our fitness clothes after working out at the gym. .

But a personal trainer was met with backlash over her outfit choice after she filmed herself grocery shopping in her tracksuit – though she’s responded to critics since.

Apparently Sophie Allen (sopheallen from TikTok) was wearing a black sweatshirt/sports bra with track pants while shopping in the supermarket aisle. Her video included a text overlay that read: “Your hate for being a female in a crop top at the supermarket just hits [different]. “

Since sharing her supermarket experience, Allen’s TikTok has received 1.8 million views, nearly 175,000 likes, along with thousands of comments from people who aren’t shy about expressing their opinions.

Allen was met with dozens of negative comments criticizing the outfit she was wearing.

One person wrote: “This isn’t a camisole, this is a sports bra. This is like a guy walking into the store and saying your hates are just wearing briefs in the store. [sic]. “

Another person said, “Lol, yes there are basic dress codes even for you which includes wearing the shirt.”

Another added, “It might be because you treat a public space as a private space. Respect other people when you’re out and about. It’s not all about you.”

A fourth person replied, “How does a woman feel comfortable revealing everything about her body that I don’t understand.”

Despite the negative comments, Allen didn’t let critics drop it and in a follow-up video posted the same clip of her shopping her tracksuits at the supermarket but added a different text overlay.

She wrote: “I’ll take it back…if you want to feel attacked – picture yourself anywhere, always, and carry a gym bag to the supermarket.”

Allen also added in the caption: “You savage, let a girl shop after the gym and create hookah content.”

Her response was met with a number of positive messages and support, TikToker told her she could wear whatever she wanted, and some said they wear tracksuits while they work for the food store.

One person wrote: “Hey, you worked so hard, it’s okay to show what you’ve accomplished!! Don’t let it bother you with what other people think or say. They’re just jealous!”

“What’s the problem. She’s proud of the hard work she does. Stop shaming women. Go girl,” someone else said.

Another added, “I work out at a gym. You better believe I’d look like this on lunch breaks and on the way home.”

A fourth person replied, “I started doing this, and I couldn’t give any less concerns about how the people around me were feeling, it just so liberating.”
