If there’s one thing we all love about Lauren London, it’s her commitment to supporting and empowering women. And this Women’s History Month, she takes a big step in her commitment to inspiring women everywhere.
Lauren recently took to Instagram to announce her partnership with popular retailer Fashion Nova on the Women On Top initiative. This initiative is led by the retailer’s Fashion Nova Cares division and is committed to donating $1 million in grants and scholarships to inspire women throughout the month. Yesterday, the gorgeous actress shared from making her first donation, Samantha Smith, the younger sister of Nipsey Hussle, who along with DJ Osh Kosh runs the nonprofit The Dreamers Youth Foundation.
“Today I learn about the work of @babyyhairz and djosh_kosh who will receive a $50,000 donation to their @dreamersyouth foundation,” Lauren said on her Instagram. “I hope that they will continue to provide guidance, empowerment and healing to the youth of our marginalized communities.”
Samantha took to Instagram to express her gratitude for Lauren’s donation and Fashion Nova, calling the actress her sister. “I wanted to say a big thank you, a big thank you to my holy sister, prayer warrior, my ray of light…just my strength, and my rock on the days I need it,” Samantha said in the 3-minute IGTV video. “And even the days when I didn’t think I needed her. Just being there for me always. And being that sister I always wanted and never had. God put Lauren in my life for more reasons than one. So, I’m so grateful for her” .
Samantha went on to explain Lauren and Fashion Nova Cares’ contribution to her nonprofit while sharing a few thoughts on what The Dreamers Youth Foundation is already doing. “We help black and brown children in marginalized communities to tap into their creative selves and expose them to the many creative fields and creative pathways there,” she explained. “Thank you, Lauren. Thank you to Fashion Nova Cares for stepping up and supporting me, my endeavors, and what I do. Because these kids are our future. They are the most important. I’m so excited about this. I just want to be the person the little girl inside me has needed for so long.”

This isn’t the first time Fashion Nova has partnered with a black woman to support a women’s empowerment initiative. Earlier this month, the retailer first announced its “Women on Top” partnership with Megan Thee Stallion in which they promised to focus on “empowering women by donating money to help support education, women-owned businesses, women-focused charities and organizations., And other inspiring women who are doing great things.” In a statement on philanthropywomen.org, Fashion Nova Founder and CEO Richard Sajian said of the initiative: “We believe the world will be a better place when all women have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. This program was created to give women an even greater advantage as they strive for her passion.”
Women’s support for women. We love to see her!
