“Helping Houston Rebuild” is an effort by the National Association of Christian Churches (NACC) disaster services, famous American rapper Megan Thee Stallion and famous American actress Sheila Jackson Lee.
This project received a massive $25,000 donation from Fashion Nova to support its efforts to rebuild Houston after a tragic winter storm that left many homeless and others with structural and plumbing problems.
As part of restoring Houston, this donation will go toward rebuilding the home of 75-year-old widow Lolita C., along with other projects in honor of Women’s History Month, March. Let’s find out how the donation was made.
In March 2021, Fashion Nova, a popular online fashion brand that launched in 2006 and has been on the front lines in activism and awareness campaigns, joined forces with famous rapper Megan Thee Stallion in launching a women’s empowerment program titled “Women on Top.’
Fashion Nova and Megan raised 1 million US dollars, which were to be distributed to various women’s organizations, organizations and institutions from March 8 to March 31. Each beneficiary received $25,000 or more from the initiative.
The aim of this initiative, conducted under the Fashion Nova Cares program, was to empower women in various sectors by bringing them a step closer to realizing their dreams.
This mission is clear in a statement from Richard Sajian, founder and CEO of Fashion Nova, who said, “At Fashion Nova, women’s empowerment and continued advocacy for diversity and inclusion have been part of our guiding principles.” He added, “We believe the world will be a better place when all women have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. This program was created to give women an even greater advantage as they pursue their passion.”
Fashion Nova announced the donation through a Facebook post that read: “We are pleased to announce today the recipient of the Women On Top Program, NAChelp and a special Helping Houston Rebuild project with Megan Thee Stalliontheestallion and American actress Sheila Jackson Leerepjacksonlee. NACC will use $25,000 to rebuild The home of Lolita C., a 75-year-old widow who is wheelchair bound. Additional projects are in progress.”
This generous donation to help rebuild Houston follows other charitable initiatives that are all run under the Fashion Nova Cares umbrella.
The Fashion Nova Cares is a non-profit division of Fashion Nova born in April 2020 to take charge of all activism and community awareness campaigns. Since its launch, Fashion Nova Cares has seen the success of the Covid 19 Relief Fund, a community initiative launched in the heart of the coronavirus pandemic to help needy American citizens impacted by the effects of this pandemic. Through this initiative, eligible individuals received $1,000 from a $1 million voluntary fund.
Another successful initiative associated with the Fashion Nova Cares umbrella is the $1 million donation from Black Lives Matter to the fight for racial equality and social justice.
Through its initiatives to support and empower the underprivileged, Fashion Nova goes beyond what most companies do in fashion and lifestyle. Besides focusing on providing affordable fashion and lifestyle to people of all sizes and ages globally, Fashion Nova goes the extra mile to see that the needs of the underprivileged are catered for.
Fashion Nova ranks highly when it comes to giving back to the community and lays the foundation for many other organizations to follow.
This Los Angeles-based fast fashion house has always had a unique way of supporting and empowering the minority.
