Package thief takes girls’ shoes from faucet before Christmas party

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is asking for your help in identifying the suspected parcel thief, and deputies say she appeared at Kitty Lee’s Dance Studio, 168th floor and Blondeau on Dec. 12. In the surveillance video, you can see a woman apparently walking with her. A dog outside the Kitty Lee dance studio. Then she seems to quickly take a package and leave. “We were shocked,” said owner Diane Hansen. Hansen says they discovered the video after they couldn’t find the shipment, so what was stolen was a young girl’s faucet shoes. “The package I left on my mailbox from the postman was shoes for a little girl who was supposed to be on our Christmas show this past week,” Hansen said. With a lack of supply chain even getting it, Hansen says, there was no way to replace it in time. “She was crying,” Hansen said. “She didn’t look like the rest of the kids on her show and she was very upset.” He broke the little girl’s heart and Hansen said he broke her heart too, and what was even more frustrating for her was how unpopular the suspected parcel thief looked. “I guess that’s what bothers me too,” Hansen said. “There was no conscience to take something, I mean, she wasn’t really hesitant to accept it.” In a Facebook post, the Douglas County Police Department said it was looking for someone to help identify the woman in the video. Hansen says she has something to say to that woman – “Make it. Take it back and apologize. Do it” the right thing. That’s what I love for you to do,” Hansen said.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is asking you to help identify the suspected parcel thief.

Representatives say she appeared at Kitty Lee Dance Studio, from No. 168 and Blondo on December 12.

In the surveillance video, you can see a woman apparently walking her dog outside Kitty Lee’s dance studio. Then she seems to quickly take a package and leave.

“We were shocked,” said owner Diane Hansen.

Hansen says they discovered the video after they couldn’t find the delivery.

What was stolen was a little girl’s tap shoes.

“The package I left on my mailbox from the postman was shoes for a little girl who was supposed to be on our Christmas show this past week,” Hansen said.

With a lack of supply chain even getting it, Hansen says, there was no way to replace it in time.

“She was crying,” Hansen said. “She didn’t look like the rest of the kids on her show and she was very upset.”

He broke the little girl’s heart and Hansen says he broke hers too.

What frustrates her even more is how unpopular the suspected parcel thief looked.

“I guess that’s what bothers me too,” Hansen said. “There was no conscience to take something, I mean, she wasn’t really hesitant to accept it.”

In a Facebook post, the Douglas County Police Department said it was looking for someone to help identify the woman in the video.

And Hansen says she has something to say to that woman –

“Keep it up,” Hansen said. “Take it back and apologize. Do the right thing. That’s what I like you to do.”
