NEW YORK – Susan Somers has been stocking up on clothes since she starred in “Three’s Company” in the 1970s.
But now that she and her husband, Alan Hamel, have moved from a 10-bedroom home in Palm Springs, California, to a smaller two-bedroom condo, she’s donated 100 boxes of couture, worth $400,000, to Revival’s, a vintage clothing store in Coachella Valley. Which gives all the proceeds to the AIDS desert project.
“It’s a win. Everyone can put my clothes on, and I’m getting rid of them,” she told me.
A hundred people have queued since 9 a.m. recently to buy Versace, Dolce & Gabbana dresses, Jimmy Choo and Louboutins.
“I’ve bought your velvet Versace dress,” a man said to me. “I’ll wear it on Halloween,” she said. “I’ll see my clothes all over town.”
Summers, known for new age theories about health, laughed when asked about a rumor that she and Hamel, who gets a shot of testosterone every Wednesday, had sex three times a day.
“Some days. Maybe Wednesday,” she laughed. “That will be on my tombstone.”
Somers do three Facebook Lives per week where they sip tequila and discuss medical issues. “People don’t like to drink alone, they all want to know the hormones,” she said.
Now 75, Somers plans to live to 110. “I think tequila keeps you young.”
Kira Dichter knows what she’s talking about when it comes to adulthood.
The Russian model had accused the late billionaire Boris Berezovsky of raping her as soon as she started modeling at the age of 15.
She is now a United Nations sports ambassador campaigning around the world to raise the age of consent.
In Nigeria, girls up to the age of 11 can become legal sexual partners. In Japan, she is 13 years old. And in 31 other countries, it’s 14.
“Such an early age of consent allows men to use young girls for their sexual needs and bear no legal responsibility,” Dikhtar told me.
Dikhtiar is a friend of Vladimir Putin’s partner – and the mother of five of his children – Alina Kabaeva. They are working together to raise the age of consent in Russia, but she will not discuss their friendship.
She was a girlfriend of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Seif is now following in his father’s footsteps to become President of Libya.
“If he is elected, she can become the first lady,” said a friend.
But Dichter did not speculate. She stays on the message. The Dominican Republic has raised the legal age [of consent] to 18, and reduce sex trafficking by 70%.”
“Italy is the number one country in sex trafficking, because all of Africa goes through Italy,” Dikhtar said. Surprisingly, Europe has a very low legal age. They did not count on the migration crisis.”
Dikhtar will be honored with an award at the Kremlin in March.
Get ready for Juna N Joey, a brother and sister work called “Post-Millennium Version of The Carpenters.”
The Generation Z stars of the Nashville music scene, whose last name is Defeo, are getting a buzz on Spotify playlists with their puppy love breakup anthem, “Til Your Heart Breaks.”
Jonah, who looks like a young gem, says her first dream is “to be on the cover of Teen Vogue.” Her older brother, 19-year-old Joy, looks like a young Elvis Presley.
“How missed by Baz Luhrmann’s choice of Joey Defeo to play Elvis in his upcoming Warner Bros. biopic instead of Austin Butler, he might come back to haunt him,” journalist George Wayne told me.
When asked how they could write songs about heartbreak when they were just teenagers, Juna told Hollywood Life’s website, “We don’t always have to personally experience something to write about.”
